Obsidia and r/fragranceswap
r/fragranceswap is a community where people post what they have and what they want. There is no seller fee from a marketplace, and payment is arranged between the two people. Obsidia is the checkout layer: Stripe holds the payment until the inspection window ends.
| Obsidia | r/fragranceswap | |
|---|---|---|
| Cost to sell | 10% of the sale, capped at $15. Stripe processing is separate. | No marketplace fee. You still pay your own shipping and whatever payment method you agree on. |
| Payment | Stripe. The payment is held until the order completes. | Agreed by the buyer and seller. A friends-and-family transfer can be hard to reverse. |
| If something is wrong | 48 hours after delivery to open a dispute, with the order's photos and tracking. | Subreddit rules and moderators. There is no held payment to refund from. |
| Listings | Decants in up to 20 sizes, partials, and full bottles. More than one seller can be in one cart. | Posts with the subreddit's required format. Each deal is its own thread. |
| Minimum | $5 | Set by the post and the subreddit rules. |
Using both
The subreddit is still where a lot of collectors talk. Obsidia is where a sale can run through a cart, a label, and a dispute window. Sellers can import a Reddit post or a file when they list in the app. That import does not include the founding-seller terms. Those stay a separate application.
